Some of the biggest challenges in live events are found in automated rigging, here is how we get things moving.
Some of the biggest challenges in live events are found in automated rigging, here is how we get things moving.
First, we Listen, starting with your plan for each element and how you want it to move. We go from white board (cocktail napkin) to shop drawings in no time. ARS has a fleet of automation machines that make movement possible. We can track, tilt, lift or turn anything. All ARS machines are designed and built in house and can be reconfigured to match your requirements. The combination of pre-fabricated machines and some custom parts means we can provide both the automation you want with a budget you can live with.
What if it doesn’t exist or hasn’t been done? No worries, we do that every week. We design it, build it, and make it fit into a truck pack with ease. This is where we live all day, every day: ensuring the vision you have makes it onto the stage.
The advantages of working with someone who does automation and fabrication day in and day out is that experience and expertise means we have done the troubleshooting already. If it’s a video wall that needs to separate nightly for a year-long tour or elements at an annual award show you’d like to move around the stage? We’ve done it all and can do it for you…
Zac Brown – OWL Tour 2019
Multiple stadiums and arenas,
United States
ARS has been touring with Zac Brown Band since 2012, but this year’s upcoming OWL TOUR called for some unique automation challenges as part of this year’s design. The design called for “flippers”, a way to move four 8’ X 25’ video panels and have them tilt into several positions during the show. Other moving elements include the band’s “gauze” scrim that utilizes pile wind winches that fold the scrim into custom truss troughs to open the show. A bi-parting Video Wall that uses the ARS rack and pinion trolley system, and finally the “chopper”, a vertical variable speed video wall.
